Thank you so much for taking a peek into a part of SugarPlum Stitches. Have FUN!!

I have tried to keep this adorable stitchery sweet and simple! There are a couple of different types of stitches involved to finish this stitchery, but they are fun and simple to learn. Transfer pattern onto tea dyed muslin by using a light box or by taping the pattern and muslin to a window. Trace design onto muslin with a pencil. (This stitchery is intended for an 8 x 10 size) Cut piece of Poly-fil traditional batting slightly larger than the muslin. Lay muslin on top of batting, with traced part facing up. Place the two layers in your stitching hoop. Stitch through both layers. Use 2 strands of floss unless directed otherwise in the pattern. Be sure to remember to make a small knot when you begin so that all your hard work does not unravel. Use an embroidery hoop to keep your stitches even and neat.
BS= back stitch; FK= French knot; SS= Spider Stitch; DS= Daisy Stitch; CS= cross stitch

Finishing touches: shade your stitchery with Crayola crayons 24 pack. Go lightly at first, and then you can always go darker if you like. Keep in mind color fades slightly after ironing. Once you are happy with your shading, lay plain piece of paper on top of colored design and press with a hot/dry iron to set the colors. Frame as desired!!! ENJOY!
